Sure, inviting kids to your wedding isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but Matthew and Lauren had almost as many kids at their wedding as they did adults! As an outsider looking in I could tell the atmosphere of their big day would have been different without children running around during cocktail hour, little girls jaw dropping over a real-life “princess” in the most stunning white dress, and crazy kiddos on the dance floor so thrilled to be up past their bedtime. After the ceremony, when everyone exited the barn a mass exodus of girls in their adorable dresses ran towards Lauren and stared at her in complete adoration. Their role model, their friend, their hero all dressed in white and looking oh so beautiful. And to tell you the truth Lauren was just excited to see those little girls from her church as they were her.
In conclusion, if kids are a big part of your life and if you don’t mind the extra flare of fun they add to an event… then invite the kids! People can sometimes pressure the bride and groom to “leave the kids with the babysitter”. But for Matthew and Lauren, their wedding celebration would have been completely different without them.
